Today, my friend Victoria introduces me to one of the horses from her stable, not the finest in her opinion, but we are here to test it. At first, we want to hear the horse’s neigh, which is very timid and not enough for us. After insults, yelling, and whipping, we can make it neigh as we desire.
Victoria demonstrates how she trained it. She mounts the saddle and shows me various gaits that immediately make me want to try. We take turns riding the horse, pushing it to exhaustion, and indeed, after a few laps, it collapses, too tired to continue.
But this is where things get serious. We remove our jackets and the saddle; now, we ride bareback, squeezing the last bit of energy out of the horse. In the end, we leave it on the ground, barely able to muster enough energy to kiss our boots.
